How to Clean Silver Vessels
- 1). Lay a plastic sink liner in the sink to protect the silver vessel from scratches.
- 2). Fill a sink with warm water and 2 tsp. mild dish washing soap--avoid lemon-scented soap.
- 3). Wash the silver vessel with a soft cloth.
- 4). Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth and store.
- 1). Wear cotton gloves to protect the silver vessel from oil from your skin.
- 2). Rinse the silver vessel in warm water to remove any dust or debris that might scratch it during the silver polishing process.
- 3). Apply 1 tsp. vinegar to a cotton ball. Rub the cotton ball on the silver vessel to remove minor (yellowish) tarnish. Rinse and dry.
- 4). Apply 2 tsp. silver polish to a slightly damp cellulose sponge to remove brown or black tarnish.
- 5). Rub the sponge on the silver vessel in a back and forth (never circular) motion. Rinse and dry.
- 1). Fill the vessel with warm water to remove coffee and wine stains.
- 2). Drop one denture tablet per every 2 cups water into the vessel. Wait 10 minutes.
- 3). Pour out the water and hand wash. Dry and store.
