Ideas for a Friend's Birthday
- Celebrate your friend's birthday in the way that makes sense for him.birthday image by Photoeyes from Fotolia.com
Plan something special for your friend's birthday to let her know how much she means to you. Nearly everyone enjoys being appreciated on their "special" day, whether it's a small gift, a huge party or an activity for just the two of you. Whatever you decide to do should be based on her personality, how close you are and your budget. - Throw a party to honor your friend's birthday so that all of his friends can help him celebrate. Make it a surprise party if he would enjoy a surprise. Ask someone to help you set everything up. Make plans to go somewhere together, such as a concert or the movies, so he's dressed appropriately. "Forget" the tickets, or make some other believable excuse to go back home where everyone can surprise him.
If he's not into surprises, consider a party built around something he's into such as a casino theme, golfing, disco, a roast or whatever he enjoys. - Give your friend, or best friend, a gift that says it all. Matching BFF (best friends forever) key chains, pendants, earrings, toe rings or any other piece of jewelry would get the point across. Purchase a frame that says something such as "friends forever" and insert your favorite picture of the two of you. Make a scrapbook to document some of your favorite memories of your friendship. Include any funny or embarrassing moments that the two of you can laugh at later when you look through the scrapbook.
- Plan an experience for the two of you that you know he'll enjoy. A helicopter ride over the river, golf lessons, bungee jumping, skydiving, cooking lessons, getting tattoos or simply attending a show or concert together. Doing something or going somewhere together will give you the opportunity to create new memories that you can reminisce about later.
- Take a trip or vacation together, even if it's only over-night. Drive to the next city over or fly to other side of the country, as long as it's to a destination that she'll enjoy. Visit a museum, gallery, concert, casino, hotel, park, ocean, mall or other place she's always wanted to go to. Spend your days on the beach or at the spa, then hit the town at night. Leave some "free" time for her to express anything she'd like to do that you haven't planned.
- Organize a night out for just the two of you, or the whole group. Have a limo pick you all up and visit some of his favorite places. For example, go to his favorite hang-out to snack on appetizers. From there, go to his favorite restaurant for a meal. Take him to a sporting event or the movies as entertainment, then get him some birthday cake at another favorite hang-out. Finish the night off at his favorite karaoke bar before having the limo take everyone back home.
