Beaded Stick Pins

  Beaded stick pins are easy to create. You can use beads of all shapes and sizes and in a multitude of color combinations. Mix large crystal beads with smaller glass beads. Add silver, gold or copper tone metal spacers to create a more classic stick pin design. These stick pins are so inexpensive to make that you can make them to match almost every outfit and give it a classy, vintage look.
  
  

Stick Pins with Charms

  Another way to create an interesting piece of jewelry is to hang a dangling charm in your favorite shape from the top of your stick pin. Hearts, butterflies or other themed charms can be easily added to a loop at the end of your stick pin. Add one or multiple charms. You can also create your own dangling objects with bead clusters.
  
  Whatever you choose, adding a dangling charm to your stick pin brings a little more interest with the movement it offers to an otherwise stationary piece of jewelry.
  
  

Decorative Buttons

• Decorative buttons are a perfect component for a stick pin. Buttons are available in all shapes and sizes. You can use metal, ceramic or plastic buttons attached to a long straight pin with jewelry or hot glue.
  
  Visit your local craft or fabric store to find a variety of buttons. The best type of button for a stick pin are buttons with a thread loop on the back of the button instead of buttons with holes through the surface.
  
  

Felted Stick Pin Designs

  You can also create a custom stick pin with a felted design. Create a small flower, heart, star or animal shape out of felt from your local craft store. Add beads, crystals or decorative stitching to your pieces to make them more interesting.
  
  Once you've created your decorative end piece, trace a felt cut out to use as the back of the item. Sandwich the stick pin between your decorative piece and cut back, then glue them all together to create your one-of-a-kind stick pin.
