- 1). If hand washing, partially fill a clean bathtub with lukewarm water, add a mild detergent and submerge the silk bedspread.
- 2). Dunk the silk bedspread a few times in the soapy water; then drain the bathtub and carefully rinse (without wringing) until no soap is left.
- 3). Partially fill the bathtub again with lukewarm water, and add 1/4 cup white vinegar. Submerge the silk bedspread in the white vinegar solution to neutralize any soap residue remaining. Rinse clean.
- 4). If machine washing, wash your silk bedspread separately with mild detergent in cold water on the delicate cycle. Do not add bleach or fabric softener.
- 5). Dry your silk bedspread in the dryer on low heat or line dry out of direct sunlight, which will damage and weaken the silk.
