Has Anyone Seen My Positive Attitude? It Was RIGHT Here
I try to bring a VERY healthy attitude with me as my eyes flutter open every morning here in southern Connecticut.
I really, really do.
And trust me, I've gotten WAY better at it than I used to be (probably because I'm doing what I love to do, which is teach.
) But then, as I write my articles and hopefully impart what I can on the people who really can learn from my mistakes and my modest successes, the mind wanders.
My mind wanders, so I pop on over to my email.
Look out positive attitude! There in my in-box, is a flood of VERY SIMILAR LOOKING 'spam-riddled' communications from people telling me how much money they're making as the clocks tick...
every single day.
Person after person has one story better than the next.
And boy oh boy, these stories are compelling and sometimes even *gosh* well written.
You know the ones...
"Hey Kevin, here's how you TOO can own a 199 Foot Yacht and work 2.
3 minutes a day...
" "Hey Kevin, want to know how I make more money than God? Well, just send me $97 on PayPal and...
" And then there's always my favorite...
you know, the one from the guy or gal who STILL doesn't know what he or she's doing with the auto-responder they got as a free download...
"Hey {first name}, need to make $624,111 by next Thursday?" Laugh if you can.
I find it such an embarrassing scene.
People HAWKING things that they have never, ever made a cent from having the outright nerve to use the same language as the person who signed THEM Up! And that person is only making $28 dollars a week.
How sick is that? I lose my positive path when I come into any contact with what I call 'internet noise.
' It disheartens me in ways I only wish it wouldn't.
And it is EVERYWHERE in cyber-land.
Every one of us knows that all too well.
It's pervasive and awful.
I got started writing my articles with one goal in mind...
ONE! Be real.
That's it.
Be real.
And if people like what I'm about, good.
If not, fine too.
This is supply and demand and supply and demand is a wonderful property.
It sickens me how many faceless people in cheap suits run around the net with promises they are not ENTITLED to bestow.
That takes away MY positive attitude.
And maybe writing this article, and publishing it here, among my peers, will make me feel better.
Because, today, I need to feel better.
