How to Remove Root From Nook Color

    Remove Root

    • 1). Turn off your Nook Color.

    • 2). Press the "Power" button at the top left of the Nook Color to turn it back on. Wait until you see the "Welcome to the future of reading" message.

    • 3). Turn off your Nook Color by holding down the "Power" button.

    • 4). Repeat this process seven more times. Failure to interrupt the boot process means you have to start the process all over again. A special screen appears showing the installation process with a timer bar to show your progress. Your device reboots when it is finished.

    Factory Reset

    • 1). Open the "Settings" menu on your Nook Color.

    • 2). Tap "Device Settings" and then "Device Info."

    • 3). Press the "Erase & Deregister Device" button.

    • 4). Confirm you want to factory reset your Nook Color. Tap the "Reset Nook" button. Your Nook Color reboots when it is finished resetting.
