Instructions for Attaching Bar Pulls
- Remove old hardware and fill the holes with a good quality wood filler by forcing the filler into the hole until the void is completely full. Wood filler will shrink as it dries so either overfill the holes or plan to add more after the initial drying time. Once the filler has dried, sand until an even surface has been reached and touch up paint or stain.
- Find the center of the drawer or door by measuring along the general area where the pull will be and lightly marking the center with a pencil. For a drawer, you will need to find the center both vertically and horizontally; on a door you will only need to center vertically then mark how far in from the door edge you want the pull to be. This should be around two inches but can be adjusted according to taste and door style.
- Mark the center of the bar pull with a small piece of tape or a wax pencil. Line up the center point on the handle and the center point on the door or drawer and lightly trace around the handle base where it meets the wood.
- Using a drill bit slightly smaller than the included screws, drill a hole in the enter of each marked circle. Be sure to drill all the way through the wood.
- Insert the screws through the back of the wood and secure them into the bar pull holes. Check for alignment, tighten and touch up any paint or stain that may have been damaged in the process.
