How to Build a Table Fountain
- 1). Purchase your fountain materials from your local home improvement store or hobby supply store. Your copper reservoir should be deep enough to house and hide the pump. Planters make a good choice for the basin; just make sure you plug any holes with plumber's putty before you begin your fountain project.
- 2). Cover one side of the Plexiglas with river rock using a waterproof adhesive. Liquid nail works well for this project. Place the rocks as close together as possible, forming a river rock wall. Let the adhesive dry fully, usually about 24 hours.
- 3). Assemble your materials, placing the fountain on the table up that is up against the wall. The top of the Plexiglas will rest against the wall. Remember that you will need an electrical outlet nearby for power to the pump.
- 4). Place the river rock Plexiglas into the back of the container. Hook the plastic tubing to the pump and place the pump into the copper container. Run the plastic tubing up between the wall and the back of the Plexiglas, with the end of the tubing barely coming over the top of the Plexiglas, allowing the water to flow down over the river rock.
- 5). Add more river rock to the reservoir, covering the pump and its components. Fill the reservoir with water and turn on the pump.
