- 1). Select the vase for your arrangement. Pin frogs allow you to place tall flowers and branches into a shallow vase or to create an display where the flowers emerge from the center of a wide-mouth vase without falling out to the sides.
- 2). Place the pin frog into the flower vase. Set it carefully on the bottom of the vase; pin frogs are heavy and will break or damage vases if dropped into the bottom.
- 3). Place the flowers into the vase one at a time. Press the stems onto the spikes of the flower pin frog. Continue adding flowers and branches, pressing each one onto a spike to secure it.
- 4). Fill the vase with water and add flower preservatives to the water. Place the flower arrangement in an area away from cold drafts or hot heater vents.
