How to Make a Wreath With Tree Scraps

    • 1). Protect your work surface with plastic or newspapers. Place your wired wreath form on top of your prepared surface.

    • 2). Bend a 6-inch piece of florist's wire in half and twist the ends together. Loop the ends around the top wire on the back of your wreath form. Twist the end of the loops around the wire until it is securely attached. This is the hanger for your completed wreath.

Gather twigs that measure about 12 inches long. Use pruning shears to cut through the ends of the twigs. Vary their lengths slightly.

    • 4). Apply a generous dot of glue to the top of the wire that encircles the inside opening of the wreath form. Place the cut end of a twig onto the glue. The top end of your twig will extend beyond the outer rim of your wreath.

    • 5). Apply glue and adhere the remaining twigs side by side in a spoke-like design, repeating Step 4, until you have worked around the entire circumference of the wreath. The cut ends of the twigs should create an even edge around the inside opening. The opposite ends of the twigs will create an uneven and artistic edge around the outside of your wreath.

    • 6). Fill gaps between the top sections of the twigs with shorter twigs. Position them to cover any exposed wire and glue the twigs into place. The wire around the center opening of the wreath is smaller in circumference than the wire that forms the outside rim of the wreath. This will cause gaps to occur between the twigs near the top of the form.

    • 7). Form a 7-inch-wide border of sheet moss to encircle the opening of your wreath. Drizzle hot glue on the twigs and gently press the moss on top of it.

    • 8). Create a border of bark around the opening of your wreath. Place and glue narrow 5-inch-long strips of bark in a spoke-like fashion on top of the moss border. Position the bark pieces tightly together. The bottom edges of the bark pieces should be even with the opening of the wreath. Fill gaps between the bark with smaller pieces.

    • 9). Glue a 2-inch border of moss around the inside opening of the wreath. Apply hot glue on top of the bark border and place the moss on top.

Arrange acorns on top of the inside border of moss in a pleasing arrangement. Position them to form a circle or scatter them at random over the moss. Glue them into place.
