How Do I Remove XP Antivirus Software?

    • 1). Click on "Start" and "Control Panel." Double-click "Add or Remove Programs."

    • 2). Look through the list of all the programs that are currently installed on your computer. Find the name of the anti-virus software that you want to remove. Click on it once and click on the button labeled "Change/Remove" that appears. Be sure you click the "Remove" side and not the "Change" side.

    • 3). Click "Yes" in the next window that appears asking if you are sure you want to uninstall your anti-virus program. Then, to begin the removal process, click on "Next" in the uninstall wizard window.

    • 4). Restart your computer, when Windows prompts you after the anti-virus has been removed. Click on "OK" and wait for your computer to restart. When you log back in to your Windows XP account the anti-virus program will be gone.
