How to Make Your Own Soap for Cheap

    • 1). Add the melt & pour soap base to the ceramic wax warmer. Use either soap flakes or a block of the soap base and make sure the warmer is set to a low simmer.

    • 2). Allow the warmer to melt the soap flakes, or bar, slowly until a creamy melted base results from it.

    • 3). Add the essential oil, vitamin E oil and powdered oatmeal to the melted base.

    • 4). Stir the contents of the warmer slowly in one direction. This will thoroughly mix the ingredients and avoid making bubbles in the base.

    • 5). Turn off the warmer and pour the melted contents into your choice of soap molds. Ordinarily this recipe makes approximately eight bars of 5 in. by 3 in. bars. Yield varies depending on size and shape of soap molds.

    • 6). Allow the soap to cool in the molds for approximately eight hours in a cool, dark spot. Keep it covered with a sheet of waxed paper to keep the top of the soap shielded from dust and other foreign objects.
