- 1). Fill a bucket with one gallon of water. The temperature of the water is not important for removing mold.
- 2). Use a measuring cup to measure out one cup of bleach. The bleach from your laundry cleaning supplies will work just fine.
- 3). Pour the bleach into the bucket of water and use a paint stir stick or other long object to mix it in thoroughly.
- 4). Use sponges, rags or any other method you choose to apply the solution to the mold affected area. Do not apply bleach solutions to surfaces that may lose color. To test your surface, apply a small drop or two to an area that isn't very visible and wait a few minutes to check for discoloration.
