How to Install Telephone Jacks Despite No Crawl Space and No Basement
- 1). Plug the telephone electric line output or "sender" module into an electric wall outlet -- the closer this outlet is to an existing telephone wall plate, the better. The "sender" module will covert the telephone signal into an electrical signal that can travel over the electric lines that are inside your home. Insert the plug at one end of a modular telephone wire into the modular port on the module's bottom.
- 2). Insert the other end of the modular telephone wire into one of the two inputs on the dual telephone plug. Remove the modular plug that is in the port on the telephone wall plate by squeezing the top and bottom as you pull it out. Insert this plug into the free input on the dual telephone plug. Insert the connector on the dual telephone plug into the port on the telephone wall plate.
- 3). Go to the room or area of the house or apartment where you want to have a new phone jack. Plug the telephone electric line output or "receiver" module into a wall outlet so that it can convert the electric signal from the "sender" module back into a telephone signal that the telephone can use. Insert the modular telephone plug at the end of a landline telephone's phone cable into the port on the module's bottom.
