5-Minute Meditation Exercise

Many people in this modern society are extremely busy and just the thought of spending an hour or more on meditation is enough to make them give up before even getting started.
But meditation does not have to be that long and can still be beneficial as short 5 or 10-minute meditation exercises.
So if you do not have and hour or 30 minutes a day to practice meditation, you should try some simple breathing exercises that do not have to take longer than 5 minutes.
Breathing Exercise: Find a comfortable meditation posture and take a moment to calm your body down before you start.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose.
Follow the air as it fills your abdomen and chest.
Visualize it as a fresh blue wind that cleanses your body.
When you exhale visualise the air as dark polluted air full of worries and tension from your body.
Locate tension in your body and when you inhale the blue healing air, guide the air towards that tense spot and let the air heal and remove the tension as you exhale.
Feel your muscles getting loose and your body relax.
Now locate worries and frustration that you hold inside.
Guide the air towards those negative feelings and heal it with the blue air.
Replace the worried feelings with a feeling of control and balance.
You are in control of this meditation and as you choose to focus on your breathing and healing of your body, you are allowing the worries to leave your body.
Keep your focus on your breath and when thoughts penetrate your mind, just regain control and turn your focus to your breathing.
Do this for 5 minutes, or longer if you prefer, and then open your eyes and keep that calm and relaxed feeling throughout your entire day.
I suggest that you do this meditation twice a day if possible.
Once in the morning before starting your day, so that you can begin the day in a calm and controlled state, and then once in the evening before going to sleep, so that you can get rid of all the different impressions you have taken in during your day.
Another short and simple meditation exercise that you may also want to try is an Imagery meditation, or visualization meditation, where you will create a peaceful place in your mind whenever you feel like taking a break from your day.
You choose what kind of place you want to create but it have to be something that symbolises peace and harmony for you.
This meditation exercise will allow you to block out all worries on the outside world as you take the time to heal your body and restore your health before you become too stressed out.
