How To Plan An Organized Cabin Kitchen

It is a good idea to come up with a lodge kitchen especially when you decide to go out with your friends or family or when you are traveling to serve the purpose of the ordinary home kitchen. However, it needs proper planning in order to be attractive and functional since it is smaller than the home-based kitchen. This can only be possible if certain things are considered.

When coming up with your kitchen plan there are some fundamental things to consider. These may vary from the number of the cooks one has, whether one requires viewing the neighboring areas, the place where one will set it up and if it is near a store where one would source his or her cooking materials. Considering all the factors will assist you in your plans.

Since this lodge kitchen is likely to be small, it is necessary to avoid keeping cooking items that you do not use regularly and only keep those that you use the most. This will help you save on the available limited space you have. You can keep items that you rarely use in storage in order to keep your cooking area clean and tidy.

Additionally, if your cabinets are full and all your appliances cannot all fit, it is a great idea to build storage units on cabin walls that are similar to closets. This will create additional space to accommodate all your cooking items. You can also build a hanging pot rack to store items which are quite heavy like pans and pots.

In order to maximize the space you have, you may want to invest in standard appliances with drawers or storage spaces. If you have refrigerators or dishwashers, make sure, they have drawers where you would keep some items. Thus, you will prevent congestion in your cabin and it will not be stuffy.

In case there are families or guests visiting your cabin, it would be a wise to set your cabin kitchen up in the open. You should also install open shelves so that the guests can see where you stack dishes, glasses or other serving items. This will in turn free up some of your time because each person will know where to take the dishes and serve themselves.

In addition, it is highly important to ensure that your room has a finish that is easy to maintain. You should avoid high maintenance finishes because they consume much of your time that would be better spent on cook. It can be time consuming to have surfaces that that are not easy to clean especially when dealing with heavy stains.
