How to Use Naturtint
- 1). Lightly detangle your dry hair before you begin to apply Naturtint. It is not necessary to pre-shampoo your hair before using the product. Put on the included protective plastic gloves to keep the color off of your skin.
- 2). Open the Naturtint package and remove the contents. In addition to the bottle of hair color, the bottle of color developer, and the instruction leaflet, all Naturtint's shades contain Nutrideep Multiplier serum. According to the package, this makes hair three times stronger than it was previously, and increases its shine and suppleness. Don't make the mistake of thinking that this is a conditioner to be used in the subsequent maintenance of your hair after it is colored. Nutrideep is intended to be part of Naturtint's initial coloring process. For best results, leave on the Nutrideep Multiplier at least three to five minutes longer than is recommended on the instruction sheet. Its conditioning effects will be more dramatic.
- 3). Drape one towel over your shoulders to protect your clothing. Before you begin to apply the hair color, rub a thin layer of petroleum jelly on your skin at the edges of your hairline (at the forehead), along temples, over the edges and backs of ears, and over the nape of your neck. This will keep you from accidentally coloring your skin as you color your hair. The petroleum jelly is non-comedogenic (it won't clog pores and cause acne), and it simply washes off with soap or shampoo.
- 4). Distribute the coloring solution throughout your hair. Combing your hair lightly with a wide-toothed comb will help. Make sure that the color is evenly applied from the roots to the tips.
- 5). Leave the coloring solution to process for 20 minutes if you are changing your hair color to one that is only one or two shades away from your current color (for example, black hair to chestnut brown). Leave it on up to 40 minutes if you are changing your look more dramatically, say from a red to a blond, or very dark brown to a bright auburn.
- 6). Rinse the coloring solution from your hair completely with lukewarm water. Dry your hair with the second towel.
