Delightful Activities Visitors to Pasig Will Enjoy

Pasig City, one of the metropolises that make up Metro Manila, is home to many big malls. However, there are other activities in Pasig besides spending money on shopping that you will surely enjoy. If you reserved a room in one of the many hotels in the city, then you did well to choose a destination where you can delight in fun activities, such as these:

Travel the Pasig River Via Ferry

For around PHP45, you can enjoy a traffic-free trip on the Pasig River from Guadalupe to Intramuros. The ride just takes about an hour in an air-conditioned ferry, but you'll be able to catch a myriad views, including the Malacanang Palace and Manila Central Post Office. The ferry runs every day from 6 am to 7 pm and has 12 stations in all.

Savor a Scrumptious Meal in Kapitolyo

Foodies unite and agree that one of the best places to eat in Pasig City is in Kapitolyo. Here, obscureā€”but definitely unforgettableā€”dining venues serving tasty meals can be found. One these places are Cafe Juanita, which serves Sisig on Tofu and Kare-Kare ni Juanita. There's also Three Sisters Restaurant of Pasig, which has been serving delighted patrons since 1941. Some of their bestsellers include the Pork Barbecue, Pancit Bihon, and Beef Kaldereta.

Visit a Museum

Among the museums in Pasig, the Lopez Memorial Museum is perhaps the most accessible, because it is located within the Ortigas Business Center, particularly in the Benpres Building. This museum features a collection of rare Filipiniana books, maps, manuscripts, art, and archeological artifacts, collected by Eugenio Lopez.

The Pasig Museum, on the other hand, is the city's repository of art and historical treasures that are significant to the city. This includes an exhibit of the history of Pasig, dating back to its early settlers until today. Among the permanent displays in the museum include Philippine Coins and Paper Money, Natural Science Collection, Araw ng Pasig Exhibits, and Valentin Cruz Room.

Ride a Calesa Around the Tiendesitas Complex

Tiendesitas is a shopping complex located in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City. The shops here are housed in structures that resemble Philippine native shelters and mainly sell art, furniture, local delicacies, antiques, pets, and fashion wear. If you get tired from all the shopping, you can take a break by riding a calesa around the complex. Luckily, Tiendesitas is located close to many hotels in Pasig City, making it a desirable place to visit.

With this short list of other activities in Pasig, your stay here will not be as expensive as a normal visit, because you could avoid the temptation of shopping malls.
