Bulk Gifts Ideas
- One-on-one gift giving for can be difficult enough for some of us, but what do we do when we need to buy gifts for a whole group? Whether the group is your office co-workers, kids at a birthday party, a PTA function or a family reunion, there is an inexpensive bulk gift that is just right for that special occasion. If you make it yourself, it is even better.
- Print small bags or boxes using free packaging templates, such as these from Yayoi. Fill them with small bulk toys and packaged candies. Alternatively, make a homemade coloring book. Download coloring pages from free sources online; print and staple them together between brightly colored cardstock to bind. Tie it and a small package of crayons together with a colorful ribbon. As a bonus, print a simple, foldable paper toy such as paper airplanes from Paper Airplane Designs on the cardstock before binding. Kids can cut out and build as a party activity.
- They may nominate you "Best Boss Ever" after you produce this sack of goodies for your staff. Buy large English walnuts and carefully open them without breaking the individual halves. Remove nuts. Glue one short strip of ribbon to both halves on the inside to make a hinge. Glue a longer ribbon inside each half on the opposite side to act as ties to hold the nut shut. Fill each nut with folded paper money, bonus check, free day off ticket or other reward. Tie each shut and toss them in a paper bag labeled "NUTS." Let workers draw prizes from the sack.
- If you want your clients to appreciate and remember you, have your logo printed on a small reuseable tote bag and fill it with items that will be truly useful to your clients. Every time they use a lip balm, hand sanitizer, soap, moisturizer, coffee mug, etc. with your business name on it, they will remember who gave it to them.
- Make homemade soaps with recipes found at Miller's Homemade Soaps or one of many available in soap-making books. For women, try a floral scent wrapped in pretty paper or ribbon. For the men, consider a woodsy spice or citrus blend on a rope. Peppermint is a popular choice for either sex and is particularly refreshing after a hard workout!
- Buy or make small photo frames. As you hand out the frames, get each person's current mailing address. Take a group picture, and send each family a shot of the reunion sized to fit the frame. Place the date of the event on the back, and enclose a copy of everyone's name and address for a lasting memory of the day and a practical way to stay in touch.
- For elegant, yet inexpensive wedding favors, print cake-slice foldable boxes on silver cardstock. Bake single-layer round cakes. Cut in wedges to fit boxes; ice as for petit fours (all sides covered) and decorate. Put in boxes topped with silver and white ribbons tied through a silver-plated charm engraved with the names and marriage date of the wedding couple, a heart-shaped bottle opener, key ring or other bulk silver-plated party favor.
- A great way to give and save at the same time is to package wildflower or heirloom garden seeds from your own patch of Earth to bestow on friends and family. Use a free template like those from The Seed Site to print colorful envelopes. Put seeds in; seal and add a green ribbon. Place packages in a basket to give out at your next get-together.
