How to Select the Proper Nozzle for a Pressure Washer

    • 1). Opt for the 0-degree nozzle for your pressure washer if you want a steady, concentrated steam of water. This is ideal for concrete, metal and cleaning equipment. It can damage wood.

    • 2). Use the soap injector nozzle if you want to wash a surface with soap. The most common surfaces for pressure washing include equipment, houses and brick surfaces.

    • 3). Select the turbo nozzle for your pressure washer for increased action and surface cleaning. This nozzle spins, creating a fan pattern. It's ideal for pressure washing peeling paint, caked-on mud and other tough jobs.

    • 4). Use a 15-degree nozzle if you want to direct the spray of the pressure washer at a 45-degree angle, such as to clean your gutters or upstairs windows.

    • 5). Put on the 25-degree nozzle when you need to flush dirt and grime from surfaces like walkways, curbs, swimming pools and driveways.

    • 6). Choose the 40-degree nozzle when you want to rinse or wash areas of your home (such as siding), windows or cars.
