• This party venue combines fun with education. The museum's collections include antique toys, dolls' houses, games and teddy bears. The party itself takes place in a dedicated room seating up to 20 children, but optional activities include a story trail of the museum, and arts and crafts. As of 2010, standard rates start at £100 plus VAT (17.5 percent) for room hire for three hours.   The London Eye, a modern-style Ferris wheel on the banks of the Thames, gives children a view across London and beyond. According to the official website, you can see as far as Windsor Castle, 40 miles outside the capital, on a clear day. A children's birthday party package includes hire of a private capsule for one hour, a birthday cake and drinks. Adults get a glass of champagne. • Eddie Catz in Putney, just outside Central London, caters to children from age 0 to age 10.
