Lifting at Home Cheaply
Depending on what your strength and conditioning goals are, you don't have to go to a fancy gym or spend thousands of dollars on multigym machines for your house.
There are a few items that you can get for your home that will help you work out.
The first thing that I recommend is a pull up bar.
There are many different pull up bars on the market today.
Pull up bars that are removable are great as you can take them on the road when you travel.
If you don't want to buy a pull up bar then you can just make a pull up station at your house with a wooden dowel(make sure it will be strong enough) and put it in a door way.
Pull ups are the ultimate strength training exercise for the upper body.
It will mainly focus on your biceps and your back, although, the neck, shoulders, wrists and stomach will also be worked out.
There are quite a few different ways that you can do a pull up that will target different area's of those muscles.
Push ups.
Push ups are another great body weight exercise that you can do.
You won't need any equipment for them but if you do decide to get something I would recommend the Perfect Push Up.
The great thing about push ups is that you are able to do them anywhere you want.
They are a great exercise to strengthen up your chest and triceps.
When done correctly they will also help build your shoulders and stomach muscles.
Make sure to keep your head up when you do them and not let it sag.
Push Ups also have many different options in how to do them depending on what muscles you want to work out.
Squats are great to do to strengthen up all the muscles in your legs.
You don't need to have a bar and weights to do squats.
You can do them anywhere in your house.
You have the options to do single leg squats or double leg squat.
If normal squats are not enough for you then investing in a weight vest will aid your training.
You will be also able to use the weight vest for pulls ups.
If squats aren't your thing than I would suggest lunges.
Lunges are a powerful tool to strength your quads, and hamstrings.
You won't even need a large area in your house for you to do lunges.
You can stand still and step out, lunge, then push yourself back, instead of the walking lunge that you see people do often.
