Measuring

• 1). Find your bust measurement, running the measuring tape just beneath your breasts and around your back. Add 10 inches to this number. This will be used to create the bottom of the bikini top.
  
  
• 2). Measure from the one side of your breasts to the other side, stopping midway between your breasts. Then measure from the under side of your breast over to the top, adding about an inch on the top. These measurements will be used to create the cups of the bikini top.
  
  
• 3). Starting at the top of your breast (where your last measurement ended), measure up around your neck and back down to the top of the other breast. Add 10 inches to this number. The neck of the bikini top will be created with this measurement.
  
  

Making the Bikini Top

• 1). Measure and cut two triangles from the fabric, using the measurements you obtained for your breast. The measurement you obtained going from one side to the other will serve as the base of the triangles, while the measurement obtained from under the breast to over the breast will tell you how tall the triangles should be.
  
  
• 2). Cut two 2-inch wide strips of fabric - one that is the length of your bust measurement plus 10 inches, and one that is the length of your neck measurement plus 10 inches. Cut the neck strip in half.
  
  
• 3). Fold the 2-inch strip of fabric that will form the bottom of the bikini top in half lengthwise, and sew a 1/4-inch seam along the length. Turn the piece right side out to form a sort of fabric tube, then hem the ends.
  
  Follow the same procedure with both of the neck straps.
  
  
• 4). Sew a 1/4-inch hem on both sides of the fabric triangles.
  
  
• 5). Find the center of the bottom strip of the bikini. Join the bottom of the triangles to the bottom piece of the bikini with the corner of each triangle 1 to 1 1/2 inches from the center, and sew them securely together.
  
  
• 6). Place the end of a neck strap at the top of one triangle, and sew them together. Repeat this for the other side.
  
  
• 7). Wear the bikini by tying the ends of the bottom strap together around your back and the neck straps together around your neck.
