How to Remove a Rear Cover From a Whirlpool Dryer

    • 1). Move the Whirlpool dryer away from the wall, then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

    • 2). Remove the three screws from the top back portion of the control console using a screwdriver.

    • 3). Remove the screws on the bottom access panel to which the power cord is connected, then remove the panel.

    • 4). Disconnect the wires connected to the power cord. Pull out the entire power cord from the back of the dryer.

    • 5). Loosen the screws on the clamp connecting the dryer duct to the dryer exhaust. Pull the duct out from the dryer.

    • 6). Remove all of the hex-head screws from the rear cover using a nut driver. Insert a putty knife into the area between the top and rear covers.
