- 1). Locate the place on your ceiling from which you want to hang your lamp. Choose a location that allows the lamp's chord to reach a wall plug.
- 2). Drill a hole into the ceiling at that location.
- 3). Screw a swag hook into the hole by hand. Make sure it is secure.
- 4). Hang the amber glass lamp from the hook by placing the lamp's chain onto the hook. Plug in your lamp.
- 5). Decide whether there is too much loose chain when the lamp is hung using a single hook. If there is excess chain, drill another hole into the ceiling about 4 inches from the original hole.
- 6). Put the other swag hook into the hole and make sure it's secure.
- 7). Place another chain link onto the new hook so that there is a drape in the chain.
