How to Repair Scratches on Ceramic Tile

    Using Toothpaste

    • 1). Apply a small amount of non-gel toothpaste directly to the scratch on your ceramic tile. You do not need to add much; use 1/2 of the amount of toothpaste you would use on your toothbrush.

    • 2). Rub the toothpaste into the scratch gently, using a damp cloth. The toothpaste is gently abrasive and works to rub the scratch out of the ceramic tile's finish.

    • 3). Rinse your ceramic tile with clean water until the toothpaste is completely washed away.

    • 4). Repeat the toothpaste rub if the scratch is still visible.

    Using Brass Polisher

    • 1). Pour a small amount of brass-polishing solution onto the scratched ceramic tile. You can always add a little more brass polisher if you find you need more.

    • 2). Rub the brass polish lightly into the scratched tile with a soft cloth. Be careful not to press too hard so you do not scratch the tile further. Brass polishing solution is lightly abrasive, but can still cause additional scratches if you apply too much pressure.

    • 3). Rinse the ceramic tile with clean water.

    • 4). Repeat the process with additional brass-polishing solution if the scratch is still visible.
