Video: Potting Lantana
Video Transcript
Hi. I'm Rebecca Winn and I'm a horticulturist and landscape designer. I own Whimsical Gardens, and artistic landscape design company. And today I'm going to talk about potting lantana. Lantana is a great summer plant. It's easy to grow, it's drought tolerant and it has prolific blooms. Lantana comes in both perennial and annual varieties. And it's great to use in pots because it has a pretty drape as it grows. Choose a pot that's big enough for lantana to grow because it can get quite large. Line the bottom with gravel to insure good drainage. Bring in some nice potting soil and put a little in the bottom, add your plant, back fill with potting soil and press it in. Make sure that your soil comes to the same level that the plant was already at. That way it acclimates nicely. Water it in and keep it moist but not wet until it's acclimated. Maybe give it a little root stimulater and you're good to go. And then your lantana will reward you with masses of blooms all summer long. I'm Rebecca Winn with Whimsical Gardens. And this has been hot to pot lantana.
