How to Decorate a Table for a Movie Party

    • 1). Cover the table with maroon velvet fabric that resembles the curtains in an old movie house. Pick up several yards at the fabric store. If necessary, sew lengths of the fabric together to cover your whole table.

    • 2). Set out a movie-themed centerpiece. Pick up a clapboard and faux film reels at a party supply store. Add two or three stand-up glitter stars, and arrange them in the middle of the table.

    • 3). Set out snacks that are typically sold at a concession stand. Place red-and-white striped bags of popcorn on the table. Fill small snack trays with nachos. Set out small packages of candy. Food should be easy to pick up and eat with your hands.

    • 4). Place drinks on the table. Fill buckets with ice and bottles of soda. For a vintage feel, use glass bottles instead of plastic. If you opt for glass bottles, set out a bottle opener so guests can open their drinks.

    • 5). Create piles of colorful plastic cups next to the drinks for those who don't want to drink out of the bottles. Fill a few cups with straws and set them out, as well.
