Wedding Flowers Can Break Your Budget - Get Creative And Save Money

When it comes to weddings, the flowers are one of the biggest overall purchases.
Traditionally wedding flowers are everywhere on the day of the wedding.
There is even a recent trend to move away from throwing rice at the happy couple to using birdseed or rose petals because they are environmentally friendly.
Wedding flowers can also be a large part of your budget.
There are a few ways that you can save on some of the expense associated with the wedding flowers without sacrificing the elegance of your day.
What if the issue is not the money at all? What if it is allergies? Let's look at what tradition has for us and see what some of the alternatives are.
The flowers that need to be considered are the bouquets, flowers for the church, and flowers for the mothers, fathers, grandmothers, groom, and ushers, the rose petals for the aisle or to use when sending the happy couple on their way from the church (as mentioned previously), as well as centerpieces for the reception.
As if the list of flowers isn't already long enough, most florists will offer the bride a "throw-away" bouquet for themselves.
As the name indicates, this is the bouquet that is used in the traditional "toss" at the reception.
Using a throw-away bouquet allows the bride to keep her own bouquet to preserve.
If your bouquet is one of the keepsakes that you would like to have, than you should be sure to get a throw-away bouquet.
If there are allergy issues, silk flowers are a nice alternative.
The silk flowers of today are sometimes impossible to tell from the real thing.
The detail and the feel will leave you unsure even after touching them.
Silk flowers are available at most craft or department stores.
They are rather inexpensive and, they are available in short stemmed for a bouquet as well as long stemmed for tying in a large ribbon.
Depending on the season and your colors, some plants can be beautiful substitutes for a floral arrangement.
For instance, a Christmas wedding can use Poinsettias in place of flowers.
A nice green plant with some Baby's Breath, or a few Carnations placed inside is another alternative.
Carnations can be sprayed to match any color scheme.
For the reception, using candle centerpieces instead of flowers may serve a dual purpose.
These can be much less expensive than flowers and using candles will take care of any allergy issues that there may be.
Using candleholders of different heights, it is easy to make an elegant display with just a few candles.
You may even consider some confetti, colored stones or tissue paper rose petals around them to match the colors of the wedding.
With a little imagination, making your wedding day beautiful is not difficult to do.
Your local craft or party store is usually full of unique decorating ideas at a reasonable price.
You can get a lot of ideas for using wedding flowers and see the different types and colors that are available.
Remember that a unique wedding is today's fantasy wedding.
Nearly anything that you do will be accepted by your guests, you may also be pleasantly surprised with some compliments.
Don't stress over these details, use what you like and enjoy it!
