McDonalds versus Starbucks - Battle of the Titans in Furniture and Decor

Ambiance is a billion dollar business, and McDonald's is going full force in adopting Starbucks' Style of Furniture and Decor.
In a major redesign of their over 30,000 stores, Mcdonald's is adding leather sofas, contemporary chairs, modern lights, and a plethora of other upscale pieces in their renovation.
All this, paired with a 2nd prong attack on Starbucks by significantly upgrading their coffee quality and taste, and what we now have is a restaurant that serves all the Mcdonald's food you grew up with, while fashioning a place for coffeeheads to "chill", Seattle style.
Will it work?Personally, I think it will, because a lot of people are already impressed with the new style from what I've seen, and it doesn't seem to deter Mcdonald's long-standing customers, who usually go for food or habitual reasons anyway.
As a result of the ambience and improved coffee, healthy salads, and snacks, Mcdonald's is showing itself to be a serious stand-in to Starbucks.
The image will take time to adopt, and some people will never consider Mcdonald's as an alternative, but I know my own mom does.
She walks the dog to Mcdonald's every morning, for a cup of coffee.
Mcdonalds aggressively adopting Starbucks' style furniture and decor can be seen everywhere on the internet.
Next time you get a cup of coffee, it will make a difference if both offer you the same experience, when the coffee is 50% cheaper and tastes about the same.
But then again, Starbucks' long time supporters may think quality and service can never be duplicated.
