How to Host a Swap Party
- 1). Plan the swap party at the beginning of the season. Send out cute invitations to all your friends making sure to explain the concept. They are to bring clothing that in good condition and preferably still in style. List the categories and number of items needed for each.
- 2). Decide where to set up the swap area and provide a full length mirror. Make available a bedroom or bath for changing clothes. If you have a rolling clothes rack or can borrow one, hang things for easy browsing.
- 3). Create a party atmosphere by serving food and drinks. It can be appetizers and wine or a full meal, depending on how much money,time and energy you as the host are willing to spend.
- 4). Designate areas for different categories--clothing, shoes, accessories. Have your guests place their items in the appropriate place and when everyone arrives, begin shopping. Each person is allowed to take home the same number of items they bring.
- 5). Serve the food when the shopping spree is done. Gossip, chat, enjoy each others' company. That's the whole idea. Hopefully everyone will like their new items, but if not, remember it is all in fun and provide a box for donations to charity.
