How You Can Benefit From The Practice Of Metta Meditation

Compassionate meditation is also called metta meditation.
"Metta" means loving kindness in Sanskrit.
I have been doing this meditation since I was 18 years old, it was taught to me by a Buddhist monk.
It has since helped me to live up to my life's challenges until today.
This meditation has helped me on the path of achieving my Doctorate Degree and my career as a Qualified Accountant and also having a loving family.
This is not about superstitious but this meditation is about "Positive Mind" and "Action" and "Determination/Persistence".
It is a very simple meditation, it started with wishing me happiness and freedom from physical and mental suffering (as one has to be emotionally healthy to help others), this is followed by wishing that my mum will be happy and free from physical and mental suffering, and so on.
The following are the sequences of my meditation: 1) Me 2) My Parents 3) My Family and Relatives 4) My Friends 5) My Colleagues 6) Strangers 7) Animals 8 ) Others Being in the World With a consistent practice of metta meditation, I feel myself become full of loving kindness and compassion and also attracting loving kindness from family, friends, strangers and animals.
It feels like radiating the energy of loving kindness from me to others, or in other words "positive mind communication" with others.
I visit my family once a year because they are far away in South East Asia, but they are always close to my heart.
Obviously, this practice has to be genuine and honest.
It is not meant to be used for the wrong reasons.
You should try this, take 5 to 10 minutes in the morning or before bedtime (I usually do it in the morning, a good start of the day).
Meditate on the following; 1) May I be always happy and free from physical and mental suffering and danger.
2) May my Parents be always happy and free from physical and mental suffering and danger.
3) May my Family and Relatives be always happy and free from physical and mental suffering and danger.
4) May my Friends be always happy and free from physical and mental suffering and danger.
5) May my Colleague be always happy and free from physical and mental suffering and danger.
6) May the Strangers be always happy and free from physical and mental suffering and danger 7) May the Animals be always happy and free from physical and mental suffering and danger 8 ) May Other Being be always happy and free from physical and mental suffering and danger (if only you believe an existence of other being, Buddhism believe the existence of other being) Give it a go and let me know how you feel about it The above is about "Mind" My daily "Action" is about greeting others first thing in the morning and always carrying a SMILING face around.
I could discuss about other action next time.
The last but not least, "Persistent" with the above practice.
As for me, I have been persistent for the last 17 years.
