How do I Clean Urine From a Bed Mattress?
- 1). Use paper towels to soak up as much of the urine from the mattress as you can. Standing on the paper towels that are on top of the urine can help get some of the liquid that has soaked through the mattress.
- 2). Spray on an enzymatic cleaning product. Avoid pouring this product on because it will make it less effective. You can find enzymatic cleaning products that are designed specifically for cleaning up urine.
- 3). Use a white towel to blot the enzymatic cleaning product. Continue blotting until most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- 4). Continue to spray on cleaner and blot with a clean area of the towel until it stays white. This means the urine has been removed from the mattress.
- 5). Add a layer of baking soda to the entire area that was contaminated with urine. Leave the baking soda on for 24 hours to remove the remaining liquid and to help eliminate the urine odor.
- 6). Use your vacuum cleaner to vacuum up the baking soda once it's had a chance to sit on the mattress for at least 24 hours.
