How to Make a No-Sew Tulle Table Skirt

    • 1). Measure from the center of the round tabletop to the floor or to the desired length of the table skirt. Double the measurement to determine the yardage needed for the table skirt. Tulle is usually sold in widths of 45 to 50 inches, so you will need to purchase twice the amount of fabric and piece the skirt together to get the needed width.

    • 2). Lay the tulle lengths on a flat surface, like the floor, and draw a line of fabric glue down a short section of the long edge of one length. Press the matching section of the other length over the glue firmly, allowing the fabrics to overlap 1 inch. Keep the tulle up off the ground while it dries. Draping it over a chair may help. Let the glue dry for 3 hours, then repeat with another small section until the entire length of tulle is connected to the second piece.

    • 3). Cut the tulle to the needed width with the scissors. The width is the same measurement as the length, so you will end up with a large square of tulle.

    • 4). Fold the tulle in half vertically and in half again horizontally to make a smaller square. Pin a long length of string, equal to the length of one edge of this smaller square, to the center fold point. Tie the soap sliver to the opposite end of the string at the end point of one side of the folded tulle.

    • 5). Draw a curved line from one edge of the folded tulle to the opposite edge with the soap sliver on the string. Cut through the line with the scissors. Unfold the tulle skirt and center it over the round tabletop.

    • 6). Add a length of ribbon around the circumference of the table that is 6 inches longer than the circumference. Use the extra inches to tie the ribbon in place with a tight bow, to better hold the tulle skirt in place. If you have trouble holding the ribbon in place while tying the bow, small safety pins can hold the ribbon to the tulle in evenly spaced intervals around the edge of the table, with the safety pins on the underside of the table skirt.
