How Do I Kill Dallis Grass?

    • 1). Nourish the lawn to prevent or kill Dallis grass using a pre-emergence blend of fertilizer during the late spring to prevent the weed from developing and spreading around the lawn. Spread the fertilizer around the lawn annually for best results.

    • 2). Water the grass regularly and aerate annually to improve drainage. Dallis grass thrives in moist areas, so aerating the lawn to remove coils of soil will help water drain through the roots and keep the lawn healthy and keep weed growth down. Allow the grass to dry thoroughly between watering to prevent Dallis grass from growing or thriving, subsequently allowing it to die off.

    • 3). Kill Dallis grass by pulling it out when you see it. Wear gardening gloves to protect the hands as you weed. Pull the weeds out by the root to prevent it from growing back.
