How to Machine Wash a Foam Cushion With Human Urine Stains

- 1). Blot up as much urine from the foam cushion as possible if the stain is still fresh. Getting to the stain quickly is the best way to prevent it from seeping deeper into the cushion.
- 2). Pour 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide onto the stain. You also can use white vinegar as an alternative.
- 3). Place the cushion in direct sunlight for two hours. This combination neutralizes urine odor and helps it to evaporate from the cushion.
- 4). Add 4 oz. of laundry detergent to your washing machine and place the cushion inside. You may wish to spray a coat of stain remover onto the cushion before setting it in the washer. Choose the most delicate wash setting available.
- 5). Return the cushion to direct sunlight until it is dry to the touch. Replace the cushion in its cover.
