Getting Over a Break-Up Without Going Insane

Getting over a break-up is hard.
Breaking up hurts and aside from a few masochists in the world, no one really likes to hurt.
That being said, there are a few things you can do that will take your mind off the pain of breaking up.
This alone helps with getting over a break-up and getting back on with your life.
You might actually discover that you can be happy on your own - at least for a little while as you recover from your relationship and decide what to do next.
Of course it helps to begin by realizing that you define yourself.
You are not defined by the relationships you are involved in.
Getting over a break-up is easier if you do these things until you don't need to.
Make Plans for Tomorrow Stay busy.
The less time you have to dwell on your break-up the better.
Make plans.
Fill your hours with things to do.
Take classes, see movies (for goodness sake avoid the romantic comedies -stick to horror flicks and bang up action films), go bowling, and do all the things you couldn't do as a couple.
Do whatever productive activities you can imagine to keep your mind off the pain of your breakup.
Spend Time with Friends and Family Don't become the third wheel but spend time with friends and family doing fun things.
Go to amusement parks, have a barbecue and show off your culinary skills, throw spa parties or build something.
Fill your hours with friends and those who love you and you will spend fewer hours hurting while getting over a break-up.
Find a Hobby If you aren't surrounded by friends and family or have a very inactive social life then perhaps it is time you find a hobby.
In the best of times you will find a hobby that is rather time consuming.
This will fill your hours, give you something new to learn, and help you in your efforts at getting over a break-up.
Make sure your hobby is productive and not destructive if you want the best benefits it has to offer.
Get Back in the Saddle Again No you don't have to ride horses to get over a breakup.
At some point you will need to consider getting back out there and dating all over again.
While it can be frightening you may very well find the perfect person to take away your pain and help heal your broken heart.
Regardless, you are likely to meet new people and have something to look forward to instead of going home and spending several hours alone each and every night.
