Low-Voltage Light Installation

    • 1). Mount the transformer near an outdoor GFCI electrical outlet using a wood screw and screw driver.

    • 2). Assemble the lights by snapping the covers into place over the bulbs. For flush-mount deck lighting, you will have to cut a hole in the decking where you want the lights installed and screw the mounting bracket into the deck.

    • 3). Secure the lights in the desired location. For pathway lights, simply pound the mounting stakes into the ground.

    • 4). Strip the end of the cabling to reveal the two wires inside. Strip these back to expose enough of the copper wiring to wrap around the transformer terminals and secure them to the transformer terminals using a screwdriver.

    • 5). Run the cable from the transformer, passing through each light in succession until you reach the final light in the series.

    • 6). Connect the lights to the cable using the supplied clip-on connectors. You snap them together around the cable.

    • 7). Dig a trench next to the cable anywhere it is exposed.

    • 8). Plug in the transformer and inspect each light to ensure it is working. When each light is working, bury any exposed cable in the trench you dug.

    • 9). Install a plastic outdoor outlet cover on the electrical outlet.
