Question: What are the signs of anemia in pregnancy?
Answer:
You might be concerned about being anemic in pregnancy. Here are some of the common signs of anemia in pregnancy:
- being tired
- feeling weak
- dizziness
- shortness of breath
- feeling cold, especially in the hands and feet
- being pale
- headaches
- trouble with concentration
Whether you have these signs of anemia or not, you will usually be tested in pregnancy.
Typically your practitioner will test you at the beginning of pregnancy and at the end of the second trimester. There are things you can do to treat anemia in pregnancy from eating more iron rich food to taking additional iron supplements.
