How to Make an Origami Note
- 1). Lay a rectangular piece of paper in front of you so that the longest sides of the paper are vertical.
- 2). Fold the top edge of the paper down on a diagonal, so that it lies evenly along the left edge of the paper. Crease and unfold. Create an opposite fold, bringing the top edge down again, this time so it lies along the right-hand edge of the paper.
- 3). Flip the paper over. At the spot where the two diagonal creases meet, fold a horizontal center line. Crease and unfold to create the center line.
- 4). Flip the paper over again. Press lightly on the spot where all the creases meet. Pull the left and right edges in and down at the horizontal center crease so they meet together near the middle of the paper. As you pull the sides down, the top of the paper collapses inward on the diagonal creases and folds down as well. This creates a triangular shape at the top of the model, with a smaller rectangular shape at the very bottom of the model.
- 5). Fold the top layer of the right side of the triangle up so that what was the right side of the bottom edge rests along the vertical center line. Fold the top layer of paper at the left corner of the triangle up in the same manner. This creates a diamond shape.
- 6). Fold the lower, far right edge of the paper in to meet the center line. Fold the lower left edge of the paper in to meet the center line as well.
- 7). Fold the bottom edge of the paper up, just until it rests along the bottom corner of the diamond shape.
- 8). Flip the paper over. Fold the top layer of paper at the top down as far as you can, creating the diamond shape again.
- 9). Fold the bottom left corner of the paper in, so what was the left side of the bottom edge rests along the center line. This corner will overlap the bottom corner of the diamond slightly. Fold the bottom right corner of the paper inward in the same way.

Tuck the tip of the right corner, which you just folded inward, into the pocket of the bottom corner of the diamond shape. Tuck the tip of the left corner into this pocket as well. - 11
Fold the right-hand flap, at the very top of the model, down and to the right on a diagonal until you can tuck the tip of this flap into the pocket of the bottom left corner. Fold the top left flap down diagonally as well, and tuck it into the bottom left pocket. - 12
Flip the paper over to view the completed heart note.
