How to Do a Low Messy Bun Without Curling Your Hair

    • 1). Use the back pick on a tease brush to part your hair to one side. You can make a clean straight part or a diagonal part. Parting the hair to one side gives you a fuller crown.

    • 2). Tease various sections of your hair with the tease brush. Hold the section of hair straight up in the air, place the tease brush bristles at the bottom of the hair toward the scalp and move the brush up and down against the hair. This adds more volume to your hair for styling.

    • 3). Section the hair again with the pick on the tease brush. Separate the front of your hair and hold it together with a hair clip. Gather the rest of your hair to either side to start making the bun.

    • 4). Pin the back of your hair in place with bobby pins. Pinning the back of the hair keeps the bun to the side. Use a few bobby pins to make the side sweep secure.

    • 5). Begin folding the loose hair into loops that you secure with bobby pins. The more loops you create the messier and curlier the bun will look. Make the loops go in various directions for a fuller looking bun.

    • 6). Remove the hair clip from the front section of your hair. Let the hair sweep over your forehead and toward the side bun. Pin the hair in place behind your ear where the bun is.

    • 7). Spray a lot of hairspray in the back of the hair where the bobby pins are, as well as on the bun itself. Hairspray holds the hair in position.
