How to Make a Candle Cover Out of Translucent Vellum Paper
- 1). Wrap a sheet of plain paper around the outside of the glass jar to form a cylinder. Holding the paper in place with one hand, draw round the inside of the cylinder with a pencil. You now have the dimensions of the jar.
- 2). Lay the sheet of plain over a sheet of vellum paper and cut the along the outline with the craft knife. Press hard to cut through both sheets. Place the paper template to one side.
- 3). Sketch your planned image onto the vellum paper. Draw lightly with a pencil taking care over your image.
- 4). Use the calligraphy pens to draw over the pencil sketch. Be watchful of where you rest your hand, it is very easy to smudge the ink. Leave it for 10 minutes to be sure the pen has dried.
- 5). Wrap the designed vellum around the outside of the jar and secure it in place with a piece of clear tape. Avoid creasing the tape for the best results. Place a lit candle in the jar, switch off the lights and admire your work.
