Home Remedy to Tighten Skin

    Tightening Astringent

    • One of the easiest and quickest ways to tighten your skin is by using an astringent on a regular basis. Lemon juice makes an excellent natural astringent along with honey, rosemary and witch hazel. Lemon and honey both have natural astringent and antibacterial properties. Witch hazel is an anti-inflammatory and astringent, and rosemary is an astringent but also helps improve circulation.

      You can use each of these ingredients alone, mix them together or blend them with other skin nourishing ingredients like milk, rose water or almond oil. Milk is nutrient-rich and contains acids that gently exfoliate the skin, rose water is a gentle astringent and anti-inflammatory, and almond oil is a great moisturizer and a natural astringent.

    Tightening Mask

    • You can use a single egg white to instantly tighten your skin. Apply the egg white to your face, allow it to dry and gently scrub it from your skin with a clean towel. You can also apply honey directly to your face and allow it to dry for 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water. You can also make a paste of calamine powder and milk, allow it to dry on your face for 20 minutes and then rinse it clean.

    Tightening Cleanser

    • The best way to tighten your skin long term is to promote new skin growth and protect against free-radical damage---from UV rays, pollution and the like---with antioxidants. Using cleansers with alpha-hydroxy acids will help gently exfoliate the skin, promoting skin regeneration.

      Make your own skin cleanser using any type of berry (e.g., blueberry) and chunks of apples, oranges, pineapples, grapes or papaya. Make a paste or scrub from mashes of a few of these fruits, some sugar and milk. Apply the paste in a circular motion and rinse clean. You can let this sit for a few minutes for a more intensified cleansing, but it won't dry the way a mask would.
