- 1). Mix 1/4 cup of liquid dishwashing soap and 1 cup of water in a bowl. Liquid dish soap is effective at removing grease and oils from wood cupboards.
- 2). Dampen a non-abrasive sponge in the soapy solution. Wipe the sponge over the cupboard's handle.
- 3). Scrub the other areas of the cupboard that are exposed to grease and stains, using the sponge and solution. Wipe the cupboard with a soft rag moistened with water to rinse away the soap.
- 4). Mix 1/2 cup of oil soap and 1 gallon of warm water in a plastic cleaning bucket. Dampen the sponge in the solution.
- 5). Wipe the sponge lightly over the entire cupboard, including the handle. Do not rinse the cupboard.
- 6). Dry the cupboard promptly with a terry cleaning cloth, wiping in the direction of the wood's grain. Buff the cupboard with the terry cloth to add shine.
