Box Tops for Schools

    What the Program Is

    • The Box Tops for Education program is dedicated to helping elementary, middle and high schools earn extra money to purchase items that regular funding doesn't allow. Such items include: playground equipment, books, teacher supplies, computers and art supplies. The idea behind the program is to give schools more money through everyday purchases of parents and other school supporters.

    Ways to Earn

    • The original way to earn money through the Box Tops for Education program is by purchasing products that have the program's symbol on them. Once these products have been purchased, the box tops can be cut off and turned into your child's school. Another way to earn money for schools through the Box Tops for Education program is by shopping online at participating companies. Money can also be earned for schools by entering your child's school in monthly drawings for bonus box tops without having to purchase anything.

    Coordinators

    • Volunteers are what make the Box Tops for Education program so successful. Each school that are participates in the program has a coordinator who oversees the collection of box tops. This person can be a parent, student, teacher or principal. The coordinator is in charge of working with teachers to educate parents and students about the program, put out collection boxes, bundle the box tops and sending them in, as well as run contests and keep track of how much has been earned by their school.

    Other Offers

    • The Box Tops for Education program offers other services in addition to its educational earnings. If you sign up to be a box top member on the program's website, you can get money saving coupons for General Mills products as well as recipes. Other things available on the website includes a blog, information on how much your school has earned in comparison to other schools and a list of items your school has purchased with Box Tops for Education funding.
