Math Puzzles for Everyone, Volume One contains 1,322 math puzzles and Volume Two contains 1,158 puzzles. No two puzzles in the two books are alike. In fact, the puzzles in Volume Two are a different style from those in Volume One. Nevertheless, all the puzzles in both volumes are based on the multiplication tables from zero through nine (0 - 9). Each volume has a "Help Section" with tips on how to master the tables and a check-off provision where a student can experience accomplishment when he checks off what he or she has mastered. Each volume has four tests to measure mastery of the tables. The first test only covers the multiplication facts from zero through three (0 - 3), whereas the second test covers the 4 - 6 facts with the remaining two tests covering the 7 - 9 and 0 - 9 multiplication facts. Each test has 110 multiplication fact problems and students should be encouraged to take each test in three minutes and twenty seconds which gives them roughly two seconds per problem. Yes, it is doable and some students will take pride by beating the time limit, completing each test in less than two minutes with total mastery.
Once mastery of the four tests is achieved, then the student should have the foundation needed for solving any of the math puzzles in both books without using a calculator, of course. Also, notice the thrill and excitement the student will show after solving the first puzzle and then the next one and the next one.
