    Harvard University

    • The business school at Harvard University was founded in 1908 in its original location inside Harvard Yard. Today, the school is located in 33 buildings on a 40-acre campus in Boston, Massachusetts, along the Charles River. Consumer magazine U.S. News & World Report ranked Harvard the No. 1 business-management program in the United States. The business school has more than 41,000 living alumni, 28 percent of which reside outside the United States. It also employees 228 full-time faculty publishing an average of 20 books per year. According to Harvard's website, 87 percent of its 2009 graduating class had been offered and accepted a job within three months of graduation.

    • Stanford University is located in Stanford, California. It was ranked second among the best business-management schools in the United States by U.S. News & World Report in 2010. Stanford offers both undergraduate and graduate-level business degrees. The graduate business school has three Nobel laureates on its faculty, as well as four members of the National Academy of Sciences, and 17 members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The school's website claims that Stanford educates more low-income students through federal financial aid than all eight Ivy-League schools combined. The graduate business school alone has more than 25,000 living alumni.

    • The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University was founded in Evanston, Illinois, in 1908. It is among the top 10 business-management schools in the United States according to U.S. News & World Report's 2010 ranking. Kellogg offers both a two- and one-year option for earning a master's of business administration degree. It offers over 200 graduate-level course options. Kellogg has a huge living alumni population of over 50,000 in all 50 states, as well as 100 countries.
