Jax and Sam McCall - Continuation of Jax Biography
Jax and Sam were brought together by the famous Dead Man's Hand -- the five cards that Wild Bill Hickok was holding ini a poker game the night that he was shot dead. After all of his debacles with Brenda and Skye, Jax left town for a time. When he returned to Port Charles in 2003, he was seeking the "Dead Man's Hand. Jax's father had owned those cards for most of his life. They were his lucky charm, he believed.
The cards had been stolen, and his ill father lost the desire to live.
Jax went on a search for those cards, which led him to a brunette con artist, Samantha McCall. Sam wanted the cards because her family had once owned the cards, and had a run of bad luck as a result. She wanted them, but only to destroy them. Jax and Sam joined forces. They realized when comparing notes that someone in Port Charles had taken them. They zeroed in on A.J. Quartermaine. He had four cards and knew that Sam and Jax must know something about the locale of the last card.
Jax and Sam Caught
Jax and Sam were caught breaking into the Quartermaine mansion, and they pretended to be a couple. Sam also stated that she was an heiress. Jax bet Sam the cards that she couldn't make anyone believe that she was an heiress. She lost. When Luke auctioned the cards at a Halloween party, Jax wired the money to Luke, but the crowd was gassed, and someone stole the cards. The thief was an old boyfriend of Sam's who wanted to have sex with her for the cards.
Jax finally got the cards and left to give them to his dad. Sam hid in his car; she convinced him to see if the cards were really lucky by betting at a casino. They also finally made love. Jax got to his father's death bed, but before he could give him the cards, John Jacks died. A distraught Jax blamed Sam for making him waste time along the way. He had since found out that she did something to his car so that it would break down. Furious, he got together with Tracy Quartermaine to get the cards from Sam and open a casino. Sam went to Luke and agreed to work against Jax and get the cards for Luke so that he could open a casino on the Haunted Star ship.
Luke eventually got the cards and opened the casino, co-owned with Tracy, who eventually became the second Mrs. Spencer (or so she thought).
