Brick Paver Patio Ideas

    Keep It Simple

    • If you want a basic patio to cover a small space, keep it simple. Use one style and size of brick paver, such as a basic rectangular red brick, to create a basic design you like. Make a basket weave layout by placing two bricks next to each other one way and then turn the next two the other way. Repeat until the patio is done. For a truly basic style, lay all your bricks in the same direction. You can get creative with this style by staggering each brick to create a more artful effect.

    Mix It Up

    • For a more contemporary look, add some color to your patio design by mixing it up. Use a variety of different brick styles, shapes and colors to create the look you want. Choose unusually shaped bricks to jazz up the space even more or add a shot of pale gray in an otherwise dark patio. If you want to mix up your patio look without getting too out there, add a border of bricks in a different size and color along the edge of your patio.

    Go Circular

    • If a basic square or rectangular brick patio just seems too bland for you, add some shape to your patio and go circular. Create a standard circle that winds in on itself or have bricks meet at a point in the middle. In a large circular patio, have your bricks meet at an open, circular flower bed in the middle to add some color to the space. If you don't want to go all the way with a circular design, add a curve to just one or two edges of your patio.
