Quick Tips For Healthier Cooking

Why is it so hard to eat healthy? For some reason all the best tasting foods in the world are bad for me, or so it seems.
While growing up I would constantly hear, "Your taste buds will change.
" Well, they haven't and I want some pizza.
After the pizza I might only be happy with a milkshake or some chocolate.
I did start trying new things as I grew and I have learned that I don't like many vegetables.
How in the world am I going to eat healthier, let alone be healthy? One easy way to figure out a meal is to make a list of the healthy foods that you and your family do like.
With your list in hand, search recipes online for the ingredients that you just listed.
With many online recipe sites you can search by ingredients you want and even exclude things that you can't stand.
One thing that I have recently changed is to start making my own salsa.
Surprisingly, I love it much more than any of the shelf brands.
All you have to do is grab a can of diced tomatoes, some onion, some peppers, and maybe a little cilantro.
Add some fresh lemon or lime juice to kick it up a notch and have an instant preservative.
Blend everything together and you've got salsa! For an extra easy way to cook up some salsa look for cans of diced tomatoes that have peppers already in them.
Some have chili peppers and some have jalapenos.
Just experiment and find what you like best.
Each variety has a different flavor and just getting a different brand will mix up the taste.
Then just add your onion, spice and lemon, and pulse in the blender for a bit.
Warning: if you decide to go the fresh pepper route, make sure to keep your skin away from the juices inside the pepper! You will lose sleep over it!
